Also, other health services and education were provided. There were activities such as Zumba for adults, and a special part of the health fair was dedicated to children, called Kids Korner, where they were able to do interactive activities. Pacific Outreach Health Fair

June 27, 2015   at  the Vietnamese American Community Center

On June 27, 2015 VN CARES partnered with the Vietnamese American Community Center of the East Bay to host the 2015 Pacific Outreach Health Fair in Oakland, California! Almost 100 patients came for screenings such as blood pressure, diabetes, bone mineral density, as well as go to different health education booths to learn about various topics. VACCEB was also able to host a food bank where patients were able to pick up a bag of food goods. We just want to give a huge thanks to all the faculty, students, pharmacists, and volunteers for making the day a huge success!

On Sunday, October 19th, VN Cares participated in the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Sacramento. This year we had a total of 26 participants come out to join us on this 5k walk. Together we raised $220, which is all going to the American Cancer Society to help fund their research for breast cancer. We would like to thank everybody who came out and contributed towards the fight against breast cancer! We hope to have more people join us next year as we continue our fight against breast cancer.

October 19, 2015  in  Sacramento, CA

On November 14, 2015 VN CARES hosted our annual Pacific Outreach Health Fair in Sacramento from 9am to 3pm. We partnered with the Vietnamese American Community of Sacramento (VACOS) to help bring free health services and education to the community. At this health fair, we offered free screenings such as immunizations, blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, bone mineral density, anemia, asthma, and body mass index to over 150 patients. We would like to thank VACOS for allowing us to use their venue as well as all our student volunteers, pharmacists and faculty for helping us serve the community. This event would not have been a success without the collaboration of everybody.
