Cervical Cancer Prevention Presentation

What a way to end the month! On January 30th, 2018, the dynamic duo of Bradley Ramos and Jessica Chu delivered a stellar presentation on the topic of cervical cancer prevention and the importance of early screenings and HPV vaccinations. The aim was to educate students about the health disparities that exist and how we can make a difference. A big shout out to the two of them for giving such an informational and interesting presentation!
Pacific Family Health Fair
A healthy body leads to a healthy soul! For free health screenings, VN CARES does it best! And that topnotch quality is precisely what we delivered on March 11th, 2018 at our Annual Pacific Family Health Fair. Over 300 Stocktonians came to visit our event. We offered a variety of health screenings such as anemia, blood pressure, and hearing. In addition, we had raffles for stellar prizes such as 20 free meals for Chipotle and we even brought back the illustrious Kidz Korner where children can hang out and get balloon animals or get their face painted! But don't worry if you missed out on this event because there will be plenty to come. Stay tuned for next time when we announce or next health care event!

Pacific Family Health Fair

Health is your most important resource; that's why we at VN CARES set up these Outreach Health Fairs all around California to deliver free health screenings for those who need them. This time on June 30, 2018; we went to San Jose at the Vietnamese American Community Center. We reached over 100 patients and provided health screenings such as blood pressure, diabetes, and anemia. Big thanks to the UC Davis branch of VN CARES for help setting up our event and spreading the word of our event!
Breast Cancer Speaker Event

With the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, VN CARES teamed up with ACSC to educate the student body upon breast cancer. A number of events were hosted including raffles and student-run presentations. Together, we were able to raise over $200 towards breast cancer research!
For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, VN CARES was honored to have Dr. Marcus Ravnan and Dr. Utsav Patel present their personal experiences working in the field of oncology for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The two informed attendees on the pathology of breast cancer, current treatments, and emotional interactions with breast cancer patients. On behalf of the attendees and VN CARES, we would like to thank Dr. Ravnan and Dr. Patel for taking time out of their busy schedules to inform us on breast cancer and inspire us to become better pharmacists!

Pacific Outreach Health Fair

VN CARES took on another year in Sacramento, partnering with the Vietnamese American Community Center of Sacramento (VACOS) in hosting another successful Outreach Health Fair! The health fair was held on November 11, 2018 and provided a variety of health services and education to patients.
Our event was also fortunate enough to be broadcasted by Good Day Sacramento! It was a pleasure to serve the Sacramento Community once again. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

On November 11, 2018 from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM, VN CARES will be holding its annual Pacific Outreach Health Fair at the Vietnamese American Community of Sacramento (VACOS) located on 6270 Elder Creek Road Sacramento, CA 95824! There will be FREE health screenings delivered such as blood glucose, flu immunization shots, anemia, blood pressure, and much more.
