Pacific Outreach Health Fair

July 25, 2017   at  the Vietnamese American Community Center

This year, the VNCARES revisited oakland for their last outreach project in the bay area. The Vietnamese American Community Center of the East Bay was kind enough to partner up with us once again to make this event a success. The health fair was held on June 25th, 2017 and over 100 patients attended. The pharmacy students of University of the Pacific, volunteers, and vendors around the area brought free health screenings, education, and resources to the Oakland area. There was even free food bank giveaways graciously donated by the Alameda County Community Food Bank. The goal of each of our health fairs is to reach out to people of different communities in Northern California and guide them towards a brighter, healthier future. With every health fair, VNCARES hopes to continue to make a positive impact on the world.

Breast Cancer Speaker Event

on October 26, 2017 at University of the Pacific

In the picture below, Dr. Ethel Nicdao talks about the growing prevalence of breast cancer in the Asian community.

To the right, VN CAREs members take a group photo with Dr. Ethel Nicdao.

As you all know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. VN CARES had the honor of collaborating with ACSC in various raffles and speaker events to better educate the public about cancer.

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, VN CARES was honored to have Dr. Ethel Nicdao, Associate Professor and Department Chair of Sociology for University of the Pacific, come and share her experience with breast cancer with over 100 students from University of the Pacific on October 26, 2017. Dr. Nicdao provided an excellent presentation that was both informative and emotionally impactful. We would like to thank everyone who attended the speaker event as well as Dr. Nicdao for such a wonderful presentation.

Pacific Outreach Health Fair

November 12, 2017 at the Vietnamese American Community Center

VN CARES has once again partnered up with the Vietnamese American Community of Sacramento and hosted our annual Pacific Outreach Health Fair! This year, we had a special guest Sacramento Vietnamese Medical Dental Pharmacy Association, who reached out to us in advance and attended our event to help bring cheer and good health to Sacramento. So, SVMDPA, thank you from the bottom of our VN CARES' heart!

This year VN CARES was able to reach out to over 200 patients and provided a variety of health services and education. In addition, our event was broadcasted on Good Day Sacramento, hopefully spreading the word for next year's event! It brings us great joy to see so many people caring for their health, and it was our pleasure to help serve the Sacramento community.

"I Care! We Care! VN Cares!"
